The cast crankshaft is usually made of nodular cast iron. Pour the molten iron into the mold and realize one step molding. The manufacturing is simple and the cost is low. Nodular cast iron is one of the most important material for producing cast crankshaft. It features vibration absorbing, wear resistance, no surface crack etc.

For the crankshaft is usually used under heavy load, continuous and changeable bending moment or torsion moment, bending fatigue fracture and journal wear are the most common issues. So, the material of crankshaft should have high rigidity and high wear resistance. Nodular cast iron is quite suitable.
